Dear Future Husband
I’m thinking about you today. I’m excited to get to know you soon.
My heart is already filled with joy knowing that God is molding you to be the best person not only for me but for the world. “For the world” because I know your heart will be filled with so much love from God that you’ll ache to share it not only with me but with everyone around you—especially those who need it most.
My heart is already filled with joy knowing that you love God more than you love me. You will continue longing for His Word, for quiet time, for ministry, for sharing the Gospel, for doing mission work, and for a deep personal relationship with Him…hopefully even more than I do and will.
My heart is already filled with joy knowing that you enjoy being with kids and that I can trust you to help me take care of our children :) And what’s more awesome is that you’ll love not just our own kids but all the children in the world just like how Jesus loves them.
My heart is already filled with joy knowing that you’ll make me laugh…A LOT. And I’m sure you’ll make me cry too, but God is already preparing my forgiving and accepting heart so that I can love you even more after our petty fights.
I just want you to know now that I will love you, not just with all my heart but with the love of the Lord :)

You deserve so much better, and the fact that this isn’t totally clear to you, that’s a problem. You deserve to be with someone who tells you the truth, even when it’s hard for you to hear. You deserve to be with someone you could trust with your whole future, and the future of your children. You deserve to be with a man of his word. You deserve to be with a man who looks at you and decides the sun shines out of your butt, and there is no other woman on the face of the planet that can compare to you. Tell God you don’t want to settle for second-best, in yourself, and in your future husband, and watch what happens.

This made me teary-eyed. It has a different impact hearing it from someone who doesn’t know my whole story but seems to understand my situation fully.
